The world is becoming more dependent on energy resources, which translates into political dependency energy-exported states. This will significantly impact the economy, transport, and environment around world. Railway transport an essential mode of transportation because it can operate electrified network has zero carbon emissions. High-Speed Railways (HSR) energy-intensive system, important economically environmentally to reduce amount used energy. study examined high-speed rail from efficiency point view found factors that consumption rail. research aims answer question motivated this research: what fundamental affect selected HSR systems? It estimated dynamic changes in total for seven systems 2010-2017 benchmarked most efficient systems. non-radial Data Envelopment Analyses methodology been fulfil research. To conduct complex statistical analyses, IBM SPSS applied. main findings have shown decrease vehicle mass, improved design rolling stock increased occupancy trains support reduction by railways. strongly correlate with type operational strategies. expected outcomes contribute developing advancing sustainable train operators making decisions when acquiring new assess benefits acceleration modernising current stock.
